The Dusky-veined walnut aphid, Panaphis juglandis (Goeze) (Hemiptera: Callaphididae), is one of the most important pests in walnut orchards in Lake Van Basin, Turkey.  In order to determine the growth potential and predation capacity of one of its major predators, Chrysoperla carnea (Stephen) (Neuroptera: Chrysopidae), the life table and predation rate of the lacewing were studied at 25 ±1 °C, 65 ± 5% RH, and a photoperiod of 16:8 (L:D) h (5,000 lux).  Life table raw data, population parameters, and predation rate were analyzed using the age-stage, two-sex life table.  The intrinsic rate of increase (r), finite rate of increase (λ), net reproductive rate (R0), and mean generation time (T) were 0.103 d-1, 1.108 d-1, 59.91 offspring and 39.72 d respectively.  The net predation rate (C0) of the predator was 143.94 aphids.  Results obtained in this study will be used in a pest management program for P. juglandis.
