90 Evaluation of new options for thrips control on cotton in North Carolina
Tuesday, March 5, 2013: 9:18 AM
Governor Room (Hilton Baton Rouge)
In the upper Southwest region of the Cotton Belt, thrips levels are typically both higher than elsewhere in the US and also often more damaging due to cooler grow off conditions which lengthen the window of vulnerability to thrips damage to cotton seedlings. The research presented investigates the promise of in-furrow chloronicotinoids, ultra-high seed treatment rates and the use of later planting dates to minimize thrips damage.
