Resistance to contact insecticides is common in bed bug populations sampled across broad geographic regions. Insecticide resistance results in lower efficacy, higher application rates, more frequent applications of the insecticides, and higher magnitude and frequency of resistance. Baits have been effectively deployed against a number of urban pests, and this work evaluates the effectiveness of pesticides that could be used systemically, as well as pesticides that would be formulated into baits.
