GF-2860 is a new insecticide combination insecticide being characterized by Dow AgroSciences for the control of plant damaging chewing and sucking insects in outdoor ornamental nurseries. GF-2860 is a water dispersible granule consisting of a 1:1 ratio of spinetoram to sulfoxaflor. This paper will highlight the research completed to date. When applied just to the point of spray run-off at 2.0 - 3.5 oz/100 gallons of water, GF-2860 provides excellent control of aphids, lepidopterous larvae, lacebug, certain scales, mealybugs, whitefly and thrips. Spinetoram is derived by chemically modifying naturally-occurring spinosyns J and L and a is a Group 5 insecticide, like spinosad . Sulfoxaflor was discovered by and proprietary to Dow AgroSciences. This chemistry belongs to a new chemical class of insecticides—sulfoximines . Sulfoxaflor has a unique mode of action is being developed globally for use on most major crop groups and controls economically important sap-feeding insect pests.
