In 2004, Sysco Corporation initiated an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and sustainability initiative in collaboration with its canned and frozen fruit and vegetable supply chain.  The program currently includes 80 food processors and more than 4000 growers around the world.  Participants use IPM and other best practices to improve resource use efficiency and reduce environmental impacts. Results are reported annually through an environmental indicator report completed by each processor and summarized by Sysco Quality Assurance.
