Attraction of codling moth neonates to fruit presented on colored surfaces

In choice assays, codling moth neonates were offered fruit plugs presented on colored surfaces. The larvae preferred fruit presented on yellow or orange liners. Blue liners deterred the larvae. Possible applications of this finding will be discussed.
