Is management improved when seed treatments are applied to aphid-resistant soybeans?

Exhibit Hall A, Floor One (Knoxville Convention Center)
The soybean aphid is the leading insect threat to soybean production in the Midwestern United States. Seed applications of neonicitinoid insecticides are popular for broad-spectrum control of early season soybean pests. Host plant resistant varieties have been developed for soybean aphid control. A recent management tactic is the pairing of neonicitinoid seed treatments with host plant resistant varieties for soybean aphid control. However, little data is available evaluating the efficacy of this management tactic for soybean aphid control.
