Ten workers of eastern subterranean termite from each of 28 locations in Nebraska were genotyped at seven microsatellite loci to compare colony breeding system and population genetic structure. The data indicated that most termites originated from simple and highly inbred colonies. This breeding paradigm of termites resulted from seasonal change in temperatures.
