D0167 Rock outcrops and aquatic beetles: genetic structuring in a fragmented Guiana Shield habitat using mtDNA

Granite outcrops are common features in the northwestern Guiana Shield that possess a variety of aquatic habitats including seepages and rock pools. Using mtDNA gene cytochrome oxidase I, we examined the genetic structure within and between populations of several aquatic beetle species from these outcrops in southern Venezuela.
