A review of literature will reveal that there is no paucity of research data for IPM programs whether itÂ’s for field crops, ornamentals, or urban and structural environments. However, there is lack of data for delivering or implementing IPM programs on a communitywide environments ranging from structural to landscape environment, and anything in between and pest ranging from invertebrates to vertebrates. There is a need to have some research conducted to create, design or modify existing tools from either urban or landscape to include all the types of environment where IPM would be delivered in a communitywide multidisciplinary situation. For example, there is software for capturing pest management data for IPM service for structural pest management program, but can this be easily moved to capture landscape or other existing environment. Other tools would include developing training modules, evaluating pesticide formulations and precise pesticide application techniques that could be used to apply a product from a structural environment to landscape setting. Another anticipated challenge will be seeking source of funding these kinds of research at a communitywide level. This presentation will review the required tools and related research for delivering such an IPM program crossing various boundaries within a community.
