Stink bugs are widely regarded as economically important pests of cotton production in the Southeastern US, yet important biological parameters like distribution within fields remain unknown. We sampled six commercial cotton fields (15-25 acres each) on a weekly basis to investigate the distribution of southern green stink bugs and brown stink bugs. Sampling methods included sweep nets, drop sheet samples, and boll splicing at a density of one sampling location per acre. Results will compare statistical distributions estimated from each sampling method and an analysis of the time required to sample.
