Full length cDNA of a membrane bound alkaline phosphatase from tobacco budworm, Heliothis virescens, was cloned and nucleotide sequence was determined. Nucleotide sequence and the organization of the Hv-mALP gene were determined by sequencing direct and inverse PCR products. Quantitative PCR was used to determine the expression levels of Hv-mALP in the foregut, midgut, hindgut, fat body, and muscle tissues.
