The impact of delusory parasitosis on entomology: Where are the bugs?

Delusory parasitosis (DP) is a false, unshakable belief that insects are living in or on the skin (Hinkle, 2000). A recent survey of 65 self-reported sufferers illuminates commonalities in symptomatology and the impact of DP on entomologists. A protocol for identification and management strategies for entomologists is provided.
