The longhorned beetle tribe Onciderini currently contains 80 genera, 56 of which (70 %) are either monotypic or contain only two species. A preliminary morphological analysis of a representative North American taxon, Oncideres c. cingulata (Say) was conducted in preparation for a generic-level phylogenetic analysis of the tribe. Male and female specimens were dissected and structures were photographed. Potential characters that may serve to delineate genera were identified and illustrated.
