Greenstone, Matt.Greenstone@ars.usda.gov, Insect Biocontrol Laboratory, Ars-Usda, 10300 Baltimore Avenue, BARC-West, Bldg 11A, Beltsville, MD.

A field and laboratory study was conducted on the predation of Bemisia tabaci and Frankliniella occidentalis by Geocoris punctipes and Orius insidiosus based on molecular analysis of the guts of the predators.

Species 1: Hemiptera Aleyrodidae Bemisia tabaci (sweetpotato whitefly)
Species 2: Hemiptera Lygaeidae Geocoris punctipes (big-eyed bug)
Species 3: Hemiptera Anthocoridae Orius insidiosus (minute pirate bug, Insidious flower bug)
