A phylogenetic revison of the genus Xylosandrus Reitter (Coleoptera: Curculionidae: Scolytinae) using morphological and molecular (COI, EF-1a, and 28S) data is presented. Phylogenetic trees from both separate and combined analyses were used to test the monophyly of Xylosandrus and its relationships to the genera Cnestus Sampson, Amasa Lea, and Anisandrus Fabricius. The current concept of Xylosandrus was found to be polyphyletic. Preliminary data suggest that several taxonomic changes will be need to made within these genera.
