Flubendiamide (proposed ISO name, internal code NNI-0001) is a novel class insecticide, which acts through a new biochemical mode of action in lepidopterous insect pests. After foliar application, flubendiamide has excellent fast-acting and residual activity against a broad spectrum of lepidopterous insect pests, such as Helicoverpa spp., Spodoptera spp., Plutella spp. and Agrotis spp., including resistant strains of them as well. Flubendiamide has a very low toxicity against beneficial arthropods. Flubendiamide will be an essential tool for the control of important lepidopterous insect pests and be compatible with IPM and insect resistance management programs.
