Scabies mites produce substances that modulate the host's immune/inflammatory response. In this study human peripherial blood mononuclear cells were challenged with extracts from Sarcoptes scabiei and the expression of cytokines for specific T-lymphocyte phenotypes was determined.

Species 1: Acari Sarcoptidae Sarcoptes scabiei (itch mite, scab mite)
Keywords: cytokine, lymphocyte
