Land-use effects on longhorned beetle (Col.: Cerambycidae) assemblages

Jeffrey D. Holland, jdhollan@purdue.edu, Purdue University, Department of Entomology, 901 W. State St, West Lafayette, IN

We surveyed wood-boring beetles at sites throughout Indiana to determine how land-use trends are impacting the native fauna. At least one species appears to have recently undergone a dramatic decrease in its range. We are able to track population changes in this particular species decades after it has been extirpated from an area.

Species 1: Coleoptera Cerambycidae
Species 2: Coleoptera Buprestidae
Species 3: Coleoptera Cerambycidae Glycobius speciousus (Sugar maple borer)
Keywords: land-use pattern, biodiversity
