The effects of orchard applications of methoxyfenozide (Intrepid 2F) on the orientation of adult codling moth (Cydia pomonella L.) and other tortricid species were examined in a 5-acre isolated apple orchard. Traps with caged female moths, treated and untreated, as well as with commercial sex pheromone lures, were placed in the block and monitored throughout the season. Traps were checked every 24, 48, and 72 hours. During the first adult codling moth emergence period no insecticides were applied, during the second adult emergence period methoxyfenozide was applied at labeled field rates, and for the third flight period methoxyfenozide and Isomate-C Plus (mating disruption) dispensers were applied.
