Monitoring with pheromone-baited traps is one of the best tools available for the management of stored product –pests; however, in some cases the pheromone is so effective that it can attract insects from a long distance. In stored-products this is true of the Indian meal moth, Plodia interpunctella, and can make it difficult for the user to locate points of infestation. Tre’ce’, Inc has developed the MicroDot system that incorporates an effective short range lure and trap that will allow the user to more accurately define infestations and deal with them before they spread.
