Effects of bait sprays on responses and control of cherry fruit fly and apple maggot. Wee L. Yee. USDA-ARS, Yakima Agricultural Research Laboratory, Wapato, WA 98951.

The effects of GF-120, Nulure, and Mazoferm bait sprays on attraction and feeding responses and control of the western cherry fruit fly, Rhagoletis indifferens Curran, and of the apple maggot, Rhagoletis pomonella (Walsh), were determined in 2005. Neither species was highly attracted to the three baits or to GF-120 in laboratory and field tests. However, while there appeared to be no long- or mid-range attraction, flies did seem to be somewhat attracted to baits at close distances. Field spray tests were conducted against both fruit fly species.
