" Bait averse" German cockroaches [Blattella germanica (L.)], (Dictyoptera: Blattellidae), were evaluated for their response to baits formulated with and without sugar additives

German cockroaches exhibiting "bait aversion" behavior were assayed to determine their response to phagostimulants (sugars) commonly used in commercial gel bait formulations. Radio-labels, 14C and 3H, were used to quantify the amount of consumption per cockroach of baits formulated with and without sugar additives.
