German cockroaches exhibiting "bait aversion" behavior were assayed to determine their response to phagostimulants (sugars) commonly used in commercial gel bait formulations. Radio-labels, 14C and 3H, were used to quantify the amount of consumption per cockroach of baits formulated with and without sugar additives.
