Leafhoppers have been identified as a potential threat to the potato industry in the Pacific Northwest because of the capacity to transmit phytoplasmas. A survey of leafhopper species was conducted in Southeast Idaho. We identified several species of leafhoppers every week for 16 weeks and with the use of PCR screened them for phytoplasmas.

Species 1: Homoptera Cicadellidae Macrosteles sp
Species 2: Homoptera Cicadellidae ceratagallia sp
Species 3: Homoptera Cicadellidae circulifer sp
Keywords: leafhoppers
