Infestations of the elongate hemlock scale on eastern hemlocks at ten sites in Knoxville, TN and Asheville, NC were evaluated for population development, density, and parasitoid rate. The impact of parasitoids on the elongate hemlock scale were also compared for populations in forest and urban habitats. This species has two generations annually with the overwintering females producing eggs from mid-May through late June.
