Effects of starvation on survival, behavior, and food consumption in two subterranean termites at various soldier/worker ratios

This study investigated the longevity of C. formosanus and R. flavipes deprived of food, behavioral responses of starved termites with or without soldiers and feeding resumption after various period of starvation.


Species 1: Isoptera Rhinotermitidae Coptotermes formosanus (Formosan subterranean termite)
Species 2: Isoptera Rhinotermitidae Reticulitermes flavipes (Eastern subterranean termite)
