Rangewide genetic structuring in Dendroctonus ponderosae, the mountain pine beetle

Mountain pine beetles were sampled across the range of this economically and ecologically important insect species. AFLPs were used to examine gene flow among the populations. Preliminary results suggest patterns of genetic divergence that are driven by a combination of dispersal abilities and host tree occurrence.
