Five years data from Nevada nesting sites and one years data from sites in five other western States provide information on offspring production, mortality impacts and estimated future populations of alkali bees for use in alfalfa seed production. Simple sampling procedures for estimating female density and mortality are provided. Models of mortality impacts provide predictive measures for assessing predator, parasitoid, disease and over-wintering losses in a nesting site.
