Heterotermes tenuis (Isoptera:Rhinotermitidae) in Venezuela

The termites Heterotermes tenuis (Hagen) (Rhinotermitidae:Rhinotermitinae) is reported for Venezuela for the first time. Specimens were found at several localities in the country including places near the coast in the northern region of the country, and places like the Gran Sabana in the south, near the Brazilian border. The species was collected at different altitudes and habitats.
