The efficacy, non-repellency and transmission of indoxacarb in the Formosan subterranean termite, Coptotermes formosanus Shiraki and eastern subterranean termite, Reticulitermes flavieps (Kollar) were investigated at various concentrations and various treatment thicknesses. Results show that indoxacarb was effective against subterranean termites, allowed a complete penetration through tested thicknessses at all concentrations, and demonstrated signifcant transmisssion of the toxicant from treated workers to untreated workers. R. flavipes was notablely more susceptible to indoxacarb than C. formosanus. Concentration and thickness significantly affect survival of termites in bioassay unites.
