Growing soybean in the northcentral United States is becoming a more complicated task. One early-season dilemma for growers is what management plan to use for bean leaf beetles (Ceratoma trifurcata) and bean pod mottle virus (Comovirus). We have developed a decision guide for the management of this pest complex. The decision guide is founded on new research and presents a grower with two management plans; one for managing the beetle and the virus and one for managing only the beetle. Ultimately, these management guidelines require knowledge of the soybean field’s history.
Species 1: Coleoptera Chrysomelidae
Cerotoma trifurcata (bean leaf beetle)
Keywords: soybean, pest management
