PCR cloning and expression of histone H1 from Anopheles stephensi cells

Yongjiao Zhai, zhaix003@tc.umn.edu and Ann M. Fallon, fallo002@tc.umn.edu. University of Minnesota, Entomology, 1980 Folwell Ave, St. Paul, MN

The polymerase chain reaction was used to clone an Anopheles stephensi histone H1 cDNA. The sequence comparison of the deduced translation product from this cDNA was compared to other histone proteins and to the histone H1-like tails on Aedes and Anopheles ribosomal protein RPS6. Histone H1 protein expression was examined in cells grown in in MEM, E-0, and E-5 culture media during the cell cycle.

Species 1: Diptera Culicidae Anopheles stephensi (Anopheles mosquitoes)
