Dacapo is a Cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor. It has homology with mammalian Kip/Cap inhibitors. Dacapo protein is involved in negative regulation of the cell cycle. It is localized in the nucleus of the cells. Using PCR-based methods, we are cloing a dacapo homolog from a mosquito cell line.

Species 1: Diptera Culicidae Aedes albopictus (forest day mosquito)
Keywords: mosquito, cell cycle
