Different shaped blue sticky card traps were evaluated for the capture of western flower thrips (WFT), Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande). Blue sticky card traps shaped into cylindrical traps did not catch more WFT compared with flat rectangular traps with same surface area. WFT were attracted to the edges of blue rectangular sticky cards. The rectangular cards with larger perimeters caught more WFT than cards with smaller perimeters.
