THE EFFECT OF NEEMAZAL ON THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF DIAMONDBACK MOTH LARVAE WAS STUDIED IN THE LABORATORY USING LEAF-DIP AND TOPICAL BIOASSAYS.LAVAL MORTALITY WAS FOUND TO INCEASE WITH INCREASING EXPOSURE TIME TO NEEMAZAL,BUT DECLINED AFTER 48 HOURS.1%(V/V) NEEMAZAL GAVE THE HIGHTEST (83%0 LARVAL MORTALITY.nEEMAZAL WAS ALSO FOUND TO DELAY GROWTH OF SURVIVING LARVAE,PREVENTING MOULTING PUPATION IN SOME CASES.NO CLEAR CUT MORPHOLOGICAL ABNORMALITIES WERE OBSERVED IN SURVIVING LARVAE.NEEMAZAL ALSO APPEARED TO CAUSE ANTIFEEDENT AND REPELLENT EFFECTS TO DIAMONDBACK MOTH LARVAE.
