Is Mali an “earth’s eye” for undergraduate education in the U.S.?

Florence V. Dunkel, ueyfd@montana.edu, Montana State University, Department of Entomology, Bozeman, MT

Affiliation with the CRSP structure creates an effective country focus for undergraduates to gain understanding of entomological and related issues in material-resource poor countries. Simultaneously, undergraduate research can extend a CRSP research agenda and facilitate additional in-country dissemination of CRSP research results. Everyone learned from everyone. Future testing of this synergy model will include entomologists at CDC-Atlanta and related universities and a economics students at an 1890 Land Grant university, and, hopefully, other CRSPs and other institutions of higher education.
