How does the undergrad CRSP extern model translate to a tribal college?

Robert Madsen, bmadsen@cdkc.edu, Chief Dull Knife College, Life Sciences, Box 98, Lame Deer, MT

Tribal College faculty and students learned they had many valuable lessons to teach the 1862 Land Grant faculty and students and an instant bond with indigenous cultures of Mali. These students, some also working in English as a second language, understood quickly the problems of how to facilitate farmer-to-farmer transfer of research results. This team worked with MSU on a poster series and in Mali primarily with Peace Corps and World Vision to faciltate dissemination of IPM package for protecting postharvest cowpeas from Callosobruchus maculatus and other pests.
