Insects in aboriginal mythologies around the world

Insects are frequently found in the mythologies of aboriginal people around the world. The roles of insects in these myths range from trivial to important. There are several different types of insect myths such as creation myths, diving myths, emergence myths, etc. Undoubtedly, insect myths provide much insight into how aboriginal people view themselves and their universe.
