Purification and partial amino acid sequencing of a 56 kDa neuropeptide from Drosophila melanogaster

Songjie Wang, Xiaoping Sun, and Qisheng Song. University of Missouri-Columbia, Department of Entomology, 1-87 Agriculture Building, Columbia, MO

A 56 kDa neuropeptide was isolated from Drosophila brains through a combination of chromatograph and 2-D gel analysis. The purified peptide was excised from 2-D gel, trypsinated, and subjected to MALDI-TOF analysis and partial amino acid sequencing. The identity and putative function of the 56 kDa neuropeptide will be discussed.

Species 1: Diptera Drosophilidae Drosophila melanogaster
Keywords: neuropeptide, 2-D gel
