Mating disruption of Oriental beetle

James Lashomb, Sridhar Polavarapu, and James Johnson. Rutgers University, Department of Entomology, 93 Lipman Drive, New Brunswick, NJ

Mating disruption of oriental beetle was demonstrated on 6 farms over 2 years. Evidence of mating disruption is derived from severely reduced baited trap catch in pheromone treated fields and lack of mating of virgin tethered females. Successful mating disruption resulted from a sprayable microencapsulated pheromone and retreivable ChemTica dispenser formulations

Species 1: Coleoptera Scarabaeidae Exomala orientalis (oriental beetle)
