Occurrence and distribution of Thelohania solenopsae in red imported fire ant (Solenopsis invicta) populations in Louisiana

The goal of this study was to determine if the microsporidium Thelohania solenopsae occurs in Louisiana Red Imported Fire Ant populations, and to relate its abundance and distribution to fire ant density and social form (monogyne vs polygyne), habitat and soil characteristics, and meteorology.
