YieldGard Corn Borer (YGCB) has been commercially available to growers since 1997. Currently, this technology is available to growers in over 150 different seed brands. In 2001 and 2002, yield data were collected from the seed companies that market YGCB products to growers. Yield trials consisted of either a single replicate strip plot design or a randomized complete block design comparing the YGCB hybrid to a genetically similar isohybrid. Results were collected from 3517 locations with 13,533 YGCB to isohybrid comparisons. When data was combined over all locations in 2001 and 2002, YGCB hybrids demonstrated a 7.4 bushel per acre yield advantage as compared to the genetically similar isohybrid.

Species 1: Lepidoptera Crambidae Ostrinia nubilalis (European Corn Borer)
