Cheryl A. Baker, PSWCRL, USDA-ARS, PSWCRL, 1301 N Western St, Stillwater, OK

The recent appearance of an apparently new and damaging biotype of the Russian wheat aphid has led to complications in the ongoing attempt to develop wheat germplasm/varieties that are resistant to this pest. Findings and implications will be discussed.

Species 1: Homoptera Aphididae Diuraphis noxia (Russian wheat aphid)
Species 2: Cyperales Poaceae Triticum aestivum (wheat)
