Sesame seeds were extracted using three solvent systems and evaluated against Formosan subterranean termites in sand and filter paper treatments. The extractions significantly inhibited tunneling and feeding behaviors of the termites. Sesamol, sesamolin and sesamin are major components of sesame seed extracts, and also were evaluated for their repellency and toxicity.

Species 1: Isoptera Rhinotermitidae Coptotermes formosanus (Formosan subterranean termite)
Keywords: sesame oil
