Clemson University partnered with USDA to develop a comprehensive set of quality photographs on a wide array of IPM topics in the early 1970s. A professional USDA photographer took photographs of a wide array of subjects over a period of at least one year. Approximately 300 of these images were subsequently transferred to 35mm format and were widely distributed and used across the US. In the more than 30 years since the slides were made available, colors have faded and it has become increasingly difficult to locate quality copies of these slides.

Authors Douce, Moorhead and Bargeron contacted the Clemson authors to obtain copies of the 300 images in the slide set to add to the IPMImages.org website. At that time, we discovered that only a relatively small portion of the original images were ever transferred to 35mm and that file folders containing several thousand medium-format images taken during the project were still available at Clemson. One thousand images from the files have been digitized and multiple-resolutions of each image are available and can be downloaded for any educational use through the Clemson Entomology Department http://entweb.clemson.edu/ and the IPMImages http://www.IPMImages.org/ websites.
