The toxicity of household cleaners to urban pests

A bioassay was conducted to determine the toxicity of household cleaners to adult, male, German cockroaches, Blattella germanica, adult, male, American cockroaches, Periplaneta americana, and workers of red imported fire ants, Solenopsis invicta, Florida carpenter ants, Camponotus abdominalis floridanus, Argentine ants, Linepithema humile, and Pharaoh ants, Monomorium pharaonis. Effective dose was determined for each species utilizing both a dip and spray application of each of the cleaners.

Species 1: Blattodea Blattellidae Blattella germanica (German cockroach)
Species 2: Blattodea Blattidae Periplaneta americana (American cockroach)
Species 3: Hymenoptera Formicidae Solenopsis invicta (Red Imported Fire Ant)
