Efficacy of Diamond (novaluron) against Diamondback moth larvae

Alton N. Sparks, Entomology, University of Georgia, Entomology, PO Box 1209, Tifton, GA

The diamondback moth is a key pest of cabbage and collards in South Georgia requiring multiple insecticide applications to maintain control. Resistance has been documented to most registered insecticides in South Georgia, including spinosad which has been used for a relatively short period. Diamond (novaluron) is a growth regulator being developed by Crompton. This product has shown excellent efficacy against the diamondback moth on cabbage and collards. Results of field trials will be presented.
