Boris C. Kondratieff and David A. Leatherman. Colorado State University, Dept. of Bioagricultural Sciences and Pest Management, Ft. Collins, CO

Howard E. Evans was a Curator of the C. P. Gillette Museum of Arthropod Diversity from 1973 to 2002. He brought with him his vast knowledge gained at the Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard. During his tenure at Colorado State University (CSU) he built one of the most comprehensive collections of Hymenoptera in the U.S., especially the Pompilidae and Sphecidae. We will review his remarkable accomplishments at CSU and reminisce on numerous collecting trips and personal encounters with Howard during these years.
