Apple maggot fly (AMF) response to different odor baits on perimeter row red sphere traps in twelve commercial apple orchards was evaluated July, August, September, and October in 2001 and 2002. A 5-componant blend of attractive apple odor was compared against two concentrations (100% and 25%) of butyl hexanoate, a less attractive apple odor. AMF penetration through perimeter traps and into orchard blocks was measured by counting captured AMF on baited perimeter traps and unbaited interior monitoring traps.
Species 1: Diptera Tephritidae Rhagoletis pomonella (apple maggot)
