Inventory of the leafrollers (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) of Great Smoky Mountains National Park

John W. Brown, Systematic Entomology Laboratory, USDA, National Museum of Natural History, Washington, DC and Sara Garrett, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Department of Biology, Blacksburg, VA.

As a contribution to the All Taxa Biological Inventory of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee and North Carolina, we compiled data on the family Tortricidae. The database includes information from over 200 sampling bouts from 1986 to present. Based on over 2,000 individual records, we documented approximately 180 species of tortricid moths. We provide a list of the species, along with information on their spatial and temporal distribution within the Park. Based on a variety of statistics, estimates of the total species richness in this family range from 210 to 255.

Species 1: Lepidoptera Tortricidae (leafrollers)
